Jomast’s Investment Welcomed In Central Middlesbrough

The recent regeneration work in Middlesbrough’s Queen’s Square is already having a positive effect on this part of the town.

Close to the train station and Boho buildings, Queen’s Square is at the heart of Middlesbrough’s business district and offers a prime, central location for local and national organisations.

Following on from a multi-million pound investment by Jomast Developments – one of the North East’s leading property firms – the scheme is now fully let.

UNISON, one of the UK’s largest trade unions, has taken the ground floor suite at Erimus House and Middlesbrough College, the largest College on Teesside, has taken further space for teaching and administration at 2 Queen’s Square and now occupies over 20,000 sq ft in this building.

The 35 residential units that sit above two of the commercial buildings are also now fully occupied.

Dawn Clark from UNISON’s Middlesbrough Regional Office, who has relocated to Erimus House, said that the offices on Queen’s Square “provide an excellent central base in a very pleasant and vibrant local environment, which has been greatly enhanced by the ongoing regeneration and development of the Middlehaven area in recent years.

“The office space in Erimus House has been fitted out to a very high standard and the layout is ideal for our business needs” she added.

The regeneration work at Queen’s Square follows on the heels of Jomast’s hugely successful regeneration of Bedford Street and both projects form part of the developer’s wider regeneration of the town centre.

Speaking about the redevelopment of Queen’s Square, Mark Hill, Commercial Property Director for Jomast said “We’re delighted to have completed the redevelopment work at Queen’s Square and be fully let. The regeneration of these buildings into a mixed use scheme has been a multi-million pound project for us and further work in the surrounding areas will continue throughout the year

“Queen’s Square has a lot of potential, and we’re keen to see it evolve into a bustling new business area of the town,” he added.

Jomast is also due to shortly announce the letting of the former Bridge Inn Public House on Bridge Street East as an upmarket bar and cafe, which will be redeveloped in the coming months to further enhance the area.
